Mac OS X Port Project. The goal of this Project is to produce a high-quality, open source version of JDK 7 for the Mac. The final release has the following goals: Pass all appropriate certification tests for Java SE 7; Include a complete, native Cocoa-based UI Toolkit; Provide excellent performance; This Project is sponsored by the Porters. With Mac OS 10.7 (Lion) and later, the Java runtime is no longer installed automatically as part of the OS installation. Follow any of the methods below to install Java runtime.
The OpenJFX page at openjfx.io is a great starting place to learn more about JavaFX 11.
The Release Notes for JavaFX 11 are available in the OpenJFX GitHub repository: Release Notes.
If the older JDK isn't on your machine, you'd need to use the GUI and download the Java updater. The one closest to yours I could find was for Java 1.6.015 for Mac OS 10.5 (you didn't mention which Mac OS X version you were running): Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 5. I didn't see any for Mac OS X 10.6. Liberica JDK provides Long term Support for all of its open source builds that act as alternatives for Java application development toolkits. The Liberica OpenJDK package with the HotSpot Virtual Machine viably replaces the Java 8 (LTS), 9, 10, 11 (LTS), 12, 13, 14, 15. JDK for Mac ReadMe. This release of the JDK is a developer-only version. You can use it to create Java applications and includes the new JavaFX 2.2 client stack.
